More about Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu

Chan Heung studied under three masters: Choy Fook, Lay Yau-Shan, and a Shaolin monk known as the "Green Grass Monk." After years of training, he combined all the teachings of his masters, as well as his own findings and experience, and established a new style of martial art. To express his gratitude and respect toward his three masters, he named the new system by combining the surnames of each master: "Choy" for Choy Fook, "Lay" for Lay Yau-Shan and "Fut" for the "Green Grass Monk." The "Green Grass Monk" abandoned his original name due to his devotion to the monastery, so Chan Heung used the word "Fut," which translates to Buddha to show respect for his third master.
